MARIETTA - Cobb citizens have an array of options for healthy eating.  Amy Stillwell, founder of Relax for Dinner Personal Chef Services, shops, cooks and cleans for her clients.  After a personal consultation in which she assesses her client's dietary needs, Stillwell creates a menu and takes over dinners from there.

"I provide healthy, delicious meals to my clients. I'm passionate about food, so my clients have time to be passionate about the things they love in their lives," she said.  While her clients are busy at work or taking up a hobby, Stillwell shops for groceries and then arrives at a client's home, with her own culinary equipment and fresh herbs and spices. After whipping up the healthy cuisine, which she packages and stores in the refrigerator, she cleans the kitchen and slips out the door.
"When the client gets home the kitchen is clean and the only evidence that I've been there is the smell of cooking in the air,"
she said. "Then they can go into their refrigerator and decide which meal they want to eat that night."
After quick-chilling the steamy dishes she's prepared, Stillwell labels the items with specific heating instructions, including
when the meal must be frozen by. She also provides nutritional information and can cook using organic
ingredients upon request.

"I tend to lighten everything up. That really is my market and the demand that is out there," Stillwell said. "People don't come to me dying for something heavy so they can't get off the couch. Healthy entrees are the reason people turn to a personal chef."
Stillwell said she changes her menus frequently to keep the taste buds guessing, unless a client takes to a certain entrée and requests to have it prepared more frequently. She also tries to stick to seasonally fresh ingredients.
East Cobb resident Joan Baldwin, 52, has used Stillwell's services for more than a year.  "I've used her in a lot of different situations and she has exceeded my expectations every time. I have total confidence in everything she does. Whether she is cooking for two or 200 people, her approach is always the same," Baldwin said. "I've used caterers for years and nothing has compared to anything Amy can provide. Her food is exceptional."   Not only is Stillwell's food outstanding, but Baldwin said it's also perfect for residents looking to stay fit.
"She's very aware of heart-healthy cooking, calories and sodium. When she's done things for me, there's been a lot of thought and it's very personalized," Baldwin said.

Though Stillwell began cooking as a child, she didn't take on the culinary world until after she spent 20 years in a cubicle as a commercial lending analyst at GMAC Financial Services.

"I have two great passions in life and those are gardening and cooking. I didn't think I could make much money gardening and I don't like leaf blowers, so I decided to go into the personal chef business," she said. "I've been targeting people that are interested in eating healthy, delicious meals."
The cost of Stillwell's services varies depending on the number of meals and side items requested. The price range is from $250 to $350 per week, plus the cost of groceries.
